Situation
A training agency wanted to use their Mapstell methodology in an interactive and accessible way for customers. Mapstell helps people gain insight into their own behavioural and communication style, as well as that of others, through a visual metaphor: a behavioural map. This promotes understanding, collaboration, and effectiveness within teams and organizations.
The challenge was to make this method work not only during live training sessions, but also:
- Giving new employees an accessible introduction to Mapstell without having to follow a physical training.
- To continue to activate existing employees during the year and to secure what has been learned.
- Mapstell can be used as an energizer or team building activity at events.
In addition, there was a need for a scalable solution that could easily be resold to a wide customer base, including tech start-ups, scale-ups, corporates and educational institutions.
Solution
UP Digital developed two personalized versions of the MOVE&CONNECT game, which conveyed the core principles of Mapstell in a playful and interactive way:
- MOVE&CONNECT – Diversity Edition
Aimed at recognizing and rewarding different behavior and communication styles within teams. Participants were given assignments and questions with which they learned to recognize their own style, but also how they could respond better to others. - MOVE&CONNECT – Generations Edition
Designed to better understand and connect the different generations within teams. The game stimulated conversations about how generations work, communicate and collaborate, with the aim of building bridges between different ways of working.
The games are mobile and easy to use, without the need for additional materials. This makes them flexible to use as an energizer, team building activity or kick-off for a training program.
Why was this the right solution?
The MOVE&CONNECT games offered an accessible, interactive and scalable way to bring the Mapstell methodology to life within organizations. Instead of a one-off training, companies could use the games at any time to actively engage employees and strengthen their understanding of behavior and communication.
The solution also perfectly matched the need for creative, activating tools that contribute to the development of personal and business leadership. The flexibility of the games made them easy to deploy across a range of customer groups, and even resold to more than 300 Mapstell trainers worldwide.
Result
Thanks to this collaboration, the Mapstell methodology could be introduced to a wider audience in a playful and accessible way. The games created more engagement, energy and connection within teams, while at the same time reinforcing the core principles of Mapstell in a sustainable way.
This innovative gamification solution expanded the offering and created a unique, scalable proposition that was not only of great value to customers, but also offered a strategic growth opportunity within a global network.
